Make and Mend Deluxe Sashiko Mending Starter Kit
To celebrate the one year anniversary of my book, Make and Mend, I've designed a series of deluxe kits based around book projects. This kit is a companion to the Mending section of the book and includes a great variety of materials for all kinds of mending projects. It goes beyond my original Sashiko Mending Kit with the addition of a gridded notebook, more threads, and additional mark making tools, like a Bohin Mechanical Chalk Pencil. This chalk pencil is great for making fine lines on dark fabrics. This kit is a great addition if you've already purchased the original kit or a great starter kit if you're looking to jump into sashiko stitching. Use Make and Mend book to help guide you through your mending projects. You can add-on a book with the purchase of this kit!*
Use the notebook to practice drawing out patterns and experiment with creating your own. I like to draw out patterns before stitching to get me comfortable with the patterning, and especially love developing pattern variations. Using grid paper is really helpful for this and a fun practice. You can see my personal notebook open in the main kit image.
These are high quality, useful materials I personally use in my own projects. You don't need much to start with sashiko embroidery, but some specialty tools & materials can make it easier, and more fun to experiment with this technique.Kit Includes:
