Make and Mend Stitched Shibori Kit
To celebrate the one year anniversary of my book, Make and Mend, I've designed a series of deluxe kits based around book projects. This kit is a companion to the Stitched Shibori Bandana project (p. 73-79) and includes all the materials you'd need to create it. You'll also have enough dye, thread and the necessary tools to experiment with and create more stitched shibori beyond this project!
This is a great introductory kit for learning the basics of indigo dyeing and stitched shibori. The Yamato Indigo Dye is a natural-blend powder dye that is very easy to use. It requires only a small amount of water. There's no heating, or fermentation required and dyes natural materials (cotton, silk, linen) a vibrant indigo blue.
You will receive a PDF download of the Sun and Moon pattern with purchase. The pattern requires tile printing, but once assembled you can easily trace the pattern, or feel free to hand draw it and experiment with your own designs. Use the instructions from Make and Mend book to create this project. You can also add on a book with the purchase of this kit!*
