Hand Stitches for Mending July 6 & 13, 2-4pm

In this class we'll explore a world of practical and useful hand-stitching techniques that can be used for all kinds of mending and embellishing. The class is broken into two parts so that we have time to playfully practice, as well as look at real world examples beyond our sampler and even discus your own projects. 

My goal with this class is to provide a foundation for your growing mending practice, so I wanted to give time for you to bring in & look at your own garments in class & see how we can apply the ideas used in our samplers onto your textiles. 

Not all rips and tears are the same, so your approach will need to change based on the material, scale and site of the damage. This class will give you a good foundation for knowing when to apply certain stitches and how. I'll demonstrate 11 hand stitching techniques from visible to invisible mending, show examples of mended garments and share my tips and tricks for long-lasting, strong, and functional repairs. 

Class is held via Zoom over two subsequent Saturday afternoons. Each class will be recorded and shared after class. Please double check your email is correct at checkout.
