Sashiko 2: Creating Patterns from Scratch, Sat. Sept. 7 , 1-3:30 pm EST
In this class we will explore the world of geometric, repeating traditional sashiko patterns. This class is aimed at those who have some experience with sashiko inspired stitching and want to dive into drawing patterns by hand from scratch. Great follow up to Intro to Sashiko.
Learn how to create a wide array of patterns, best materials, and tips and tricks for applying patterns to fabric and clothing. The focus of class is to study pattern design, application, and creating patterns to stitch for future projects. We will also take some time to stitch select patterns exploring the varied ways pattern design can change the approach & rhythms of stitching.
The optional class kit includes blank fabric swatches to work on, but I also encourage you to work on personal items of clothing or home textiles as well.
Class is held via Zoom and the private class login will be shared before class. Please double check your email is correct at checkout.
